Our Team

Baidehi Sengupta is a linguist, teacher and researcher of language education. She has completed her PhD degree from Jadavpur University and is currently working on a research study with Azim Premji University, and with National Institute for the Hearing Handicap, Kolkata, and FairWear Foundation in different capacities. She is the founder secretary of Mobile Pathshala, an educational initiative in Sundarbans, West Bengal. Baidehi has been a Wipro Foundation Seeding Fellow and a participant of Bookworm’s Library Course under the capacity building programmes of Wipro Foundation. As part of Bhabook, Baidehi is engaged in the library programme in designing interventions and developing modules for library activities with special focus on enabling language development. Besides curating collections based on children’s needs, she also translates stories in Bengali.

Kuheli Sarkar is a development professional with experience in designing and leading quality education interventions with children from marginalized communities. She has a Masters in Elementary Education from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has completed the Library Educator’s Certificate Course offered by Bookworm Trust and Parag (an initiative of Tata Trusts). Presently she is working with grassroot level organizations in developing and strengthening Library programmes focusing on language development and literacy.

Rahul Mukhopadhyay is a faculty with Azim Premji University, Bhopal. He has been a guest faculty for the Masters in Elementary Education programme, the Masters in Education programme, and the B.Ed.-M.Ed. Integrated Innovative programme at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. He has worked with the Wipro Foundation in education. He is also an alumnus of the Library Educator’s Course (Hindi) offered by Parag, Tata Trusts. He likes working with small and medium-sized NGOs on mutual areas of interest, especially, capacity building in Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Children's Libraries.

Advisors

Proma Basu Roy works in the children’s literature sector with the Parag Initiative of Tata Trusts. She is an alumna of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and Calcutta University, and holds degrees in Education for both, under-graduate and post-graduate studies. Proma has been working in the field of education for over fifteen years and has devoted time to curriculum development, research programs, reading programs and teacher professional development with organisations like Vikramshila, Shikshamitra, Eklavya, TISS, UNICEF, MHRD and others.Proma is also an alumna of the Library Educator’s Course offered by Bookworm, Goa. At Parag, she leads the Library Program spread across eight states and the Big Little Book Award, the program that awards authors and illustrators, and is also a part of facilitating development of good books for children.

Thejaswi Shivanand currently works as an independent consultant for Wipro Foundation and Tata Trusts in their education and library programmes respectively. He co-founded the library programme at Champaca Children's Library, Bangalore three years back after having co-run the library at the Centre for Learning school in Bangalore for nearly fourteen years. He has been core faculty at the Library Educators Course run by Bookworm, Goa for the past six years and has been on the juries of several major children's book awards in India over the past five years.

Dwithiya Raghavan is a development professional and researcher. She has over a decade of experience in leading implementation of programmes and has over the last three years been associated with JPAL South Asia in evaluating large-scale education projects across India. She has a Masters in Development Studies from the University of Sussex, is a trained teacher and a library educator. Her focus is education in public schools and in working towards quality education for all children in the country.
